In education, the term equitable access refers to the ways in which educational institutions and policies ensure—or at least strive to ensure—that students have equal and equitable opportunities to take full advantage of their education. Students should all have the opportunity to utilize technology in the classroom for research and further learning. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is making waves across the country as students are now allowed to bring their own devices to school to use in the classroom. 1:1 devices are another way to ensure students have equitable access to technology at school. Many classroom already have several different types of devices students may use in rotations. Teachers can set schedules for students to follow, which ensures all students get a turn on a device.
